Abstract :
This paper presents an explicit construction of universal concatenated codes achieving Shannon´s capacity for discrete memoryless channels, while both encoding and decoding of the codes do not depend on the channel. Further, it is clarified that the proposed code achieves Forney´s error exponent obtainable with concatenated codes
