Abstract :
De-interlacing is an essential technology for the multi-format digital broadcasts and driving LCD/PDP. Motion compensation is useful for this, however, it has a risk for unsuitable interpolation. We propose new methods to solve the problems of motion compensation. These are "small blocks with wide motion estimation", "adaptive interpolation control by intra/inter difference" and "smooth motion switch". Finally, we measured de-interlacing performance by using re-conversion.
