Abstract :
Wireless access to telephony or to the Internet via a smartphone or laptop computer is such a common, everyday experience, it is hard for some people to imagine that connection to a pair of wires was the only way to make a telephone call in the not-too-distant past. Of course, routine wireless access also requires the nightly ritual of plugging the smartphone or laptop via a power cable into an electrical outlet for it to be recharged or, more precisely, for the battery inside the mobile device to be recharged.
