  • Abstract
The Internet society has been discussing how to use IEEE Std 1394-1995 High Performance Serial Bus (1394 or bus) to transfer Internet Protocol Version 4 (Ipv4) datagrames in the last few years. The 1394 interface needs to support not only its functions but also maximize the ability of 1394 with Internet and data transfer. We propose an adaptive interface aimed at this seamless support. In this paper, we verify the necessity of the adaptive interface compared with other deterministic approaches. Finally we suggest flow classification as an adaptive policy and present several methods to identify useful flows on 1394.
