Abstract :
Based on three dimensional analyses of the Wasio Landslide, Nagasaki, Japan, authors compared the calculated 2D and 3D stress distribution with measured loading in deep piles of the landslide. The 3D stress distribution have identical pattern with measured loading while the 2D stress distribution do not accord with the measured loading. The calculated sliding direction and sliding vector have great influence in the pattern of stress distribution. The sliding direction in 2D stability analysis is the same direction with main section and it can calculate the maximum stress for pile design only. Authors proposed a 3D stress analysis method which can calculate stress distribution of every pile in the different position of landslide.
