Abstract :
Supersonic Pulsed Detonation Ramjet Engine (SPDRE) is a novel and promising alternative for idea propulsion systems for future supersonic aircrafts, which utilizes the internal instabilities of detonation waves caused by the alternations of mixing ratios, and obtains thrust by means of organizing pulsed-oscillating detonation waves in supersonic reactive flows. The conception and basic principles of SPDRE are introduced in the present work. A detailed review of the key techniques is addressed, as well as the research progress and status. Suggestions on future aspects and emphases for the fundamental studies of SPDRE are put forward.
