Preface

The Eighth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing (IIHMSP-2012) is the eighth edition of the IIHMSP series of conferences. It is intended as an international forum for researchers and professionals in all areas of information hiding and multimedia signal processing. This year we had 312 submissions from 18 countries. All submissions were carefully reviewed by at least two reviewers. Finally 125 papers were accepted to be presented in this proceeding. The major areas covered at the conference and presented in this proceedings include: 1) Information Hiding and Security; 2) Multimedia Signal Processing and Networking; 3) Bio-Inspired Multimedia Technologies and Systems; and 4) Applications of Signal and Image Processing. In addition to the accepted research papers, five keynote speeches by leading researchers will be presented at the conference.
