Abstract :
A model-based object analysis method using polygonal representation of the boundary for the recognition of imperfect and possibly occluded 2-D industrial parts is described. The means of recognition leads reliably to the correct association of the subshapes making up the unknown object to those of the model. The scale factor between the object and the model is successfully estimated using a Hough transform like method even when the object is flawed or partially occluded. An example is given to illustrate the method
