Abstract
In this paper, a new methodology of establishing the model base and the model base management systems in a decision support system (DSS) is presented. Models are defined as the intelligent abstracted objects, classified as strategic, tactic and operational. Integration of method objects and data objects forms a model object which possesses intelligent characters; Through the model base management system, the models are then established. The object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques are conducted to the process of establishing model object and model base management systems. This technique is applied in the development of Chang Lian Intelligent Distributed Decision Support System (CL-IDDSS), and certain beneficial results have been achieved
