Abstract :
An improved procedure for experimental investigation of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission from motor drives, using a visual instrument, is described. It is found that inverter systems generate considerable impulse current through the power leads feeding the system resulting in serious conducted EMI problems and significant voltage waveform distortion in the power system. Experimental results in the time as well as frequency domain are presented and discussed
