            Abstract :
Considers a restricted axial shape description, i.e. a line segment ribbon (LSR), which is constructed by pairing linear segments. Due to its specialization, new useful attributes can be computed for a LSR. A richer and advantageous description becomes possible compared to more general ribbons. The LSR based methods are beneficial in time limited applications, e.g. object recognition for robotics
