Abstract :
The paper describes some problems which may face the user of VRLA batteries. Parameters of the battery, which can be measured, were specified and the parameters that are indispensable for evaluation of battery state have been chosen. On this basis the system for constant monitoring of battery state was designed and mounted. This system simplifies maintenance work during stationary battery operation. The monitoring system of valve regulated lead-acid batteries-BMS can control up to 8 batteries installed in one site. System measures define battery parameters in definite periods of time. The results of measurements are stored in memory of the system and can be sent by modem to personal computer with installed utility software of battery monitoring system data sent to personal computer and saved in database files can be visualised in form of tables, reports and diagrams for further analysis which allows estimation of battery state
