Abstract
In 1991, Korea Telecom (KT) confirmed and announced an FITL evolution strategy which comprised three steps of FTTO-FTTC-FTTH. An optical fiber access system, named FLC (fiber loop carrier), has since been developed and is now on commercialization for a special use of FTTO (fiber to the office) application. This paper introduces a remote-centralized power monitoring function between the so-called COT (central office terminal) and RT (remote terminal) systems, and the power supply of FLC system on the RT side. The monitoring function was achieved using DCC (data communication channel) and the power supply was designed to be as fit as possible for KT´s customer environments
