Abstract :
In this paper, the architecture of a modular fast two-dimensional (2-D) cyclic convolver is presented. This architecture utilizes the property of polynomial factorization to decompose a large 2-D cyclic convolution into many small and identical 2-D cyclic convolutions such that these small convolutions can be realized by VLSI functional modules composed of very large scale integration (VLSI) digital signal processor chips. The application of this architecture to real-time synthetic aperture radar processing is also presented in this paper.
