Abstract
An approach based on an algebraic Riccati equation for designing an observer-based H∞ reduced-order controller is provided. The advantage of this approach is that through pole-zero cancellation, we only need to solve one algebraic Riccati equation during the design process. The scheme can guarantee that the closed-loop system is stable and the closed-loop transfer function satisfies a prescribed H∞ norm bound
