            Abstract :
The computer-aided design efforts applied to object detection, identification, localization, and classification is presented with the emphasis on past accomplishments, present status, future trends and directions. The purpose of this overview is to discuss available basic techniques and their feasibilities, priorities, and prospects for the computer-aided technology development in the near future. The paper emphasizes overall necessary considerations for system implementation and related supporting theoretical approaches and their interrelationships.
