Abstract :
Light weight and compact radars with high resolution capability can be built at millimeter wave frequencies. This has been demonstrated for a long period of time for missile seeker application for military use and as automotive radars in a civilian application. The technological advantages of this type of radar can be adapted to security applications in air traffic management at short and medium range as well as on the ground. The application discussed in this paper, focuses on the derivation of high resolution signatures of flying helicopters for non-cooperative classification schemes.
