Abstract :
A video communication system based on stereo video technology is put forward, and the detailed techniques are discussed. The key techniques include the stereo video capturing, compression, decompression and display. Stereo video can reconstruct the depth information of real objects, and therefore better effects will be achieved in personal video communication, remote commercial negotiations or product exhibitions on Web sites. Considering the budget, double USB cameras are recommended as a stereo camera. It can run on normal personal computer.
