Abstract :
This article provides a comparison between the performances of the Long Term Evolution (LTE) and the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) networks in the 900 MHz spectrum. Simulation results are presented to provide a clear view of the services received by the end customer. All simulations are only theoretical and have been run in Mentum Cell Planner, which is a radio planning tool. The area chosen for the simulations is a medium size town in the center of Denmark.
