Abstract
The paper presents IEEE 802.3az standard (Energy Efficient Ethernet - EEE), which uses LPI (Low Power Idle) mode to reduce energy consumption during the periods of link inactivity. The key EEE timers were simulated and EEE performances were evaluated.
