Abstract
The present paper deals with the problem of fault location; a new approach requiring one-side measurements is proposed. The distributed line equations method was chosen to describe the overhead lines. The proposed method does not require any assumption on the fault type or on the fault resistance value. The numerical tests are conducted on single- and double-circuit lines, for various fault resistance and fault distance values, and fault type conditions, simulated under ATP-EMTP.
