Abstract :
This work explores the Impact of the recent developments in the field of visualization on biomedical research and practice. It points out that visualization has the most impact on the areas of X-ray and tomography in medicine, and cell, virus, and tissue structure in biology. Visualization areas continuing to be beneficial to biomedical research and practice are Image processing and 3-D volume rendering. As for enhancing the utility of visualization methods, the use of visual perception in visualization is promising. Finally, continuing to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of visualization methods, software, and hardware is of prime importance to biomedical research and practice.
