  • Abstract
The optimal wavelength of near infrared (NIR) for detecting a wide range of foreign fibers in cotton was determined. Also an optimal wavelength imaging system with an image-processing algorithm was developed. Research results showed that the method was effective in detecting foreign fibers, which are currently difficult for sorting.
