Abstract :
This paper presents an original performance analysis of the contention-based channel reservation schemes, namely UNI MAC in wireless communication systems. Here we mathematically derive the expression of the performance in term of success rate where the impact of misbehaving users is also taken into account. Validated with the simulation results, our numerical results show that the overall performance is degraded while a single misbehaving user exists. Furthermore, it is found that the severity of degradation depends on the important factors, i.e. misbehaving scenario and the number of misbehaving users.
