Abstract :
Numerical solution of the electromagnetic field equations is particularly important in three dimensions and arbitrary shaped applications, which leads to computationally intensive numerical optimizations using standard schemes for solving Maxwell´s equations, such as finite differences, finite integral or finite element methods. The present paper intends to motivate an extensive discussion on the available methods and a possible need for future development of novel methodical approaches.
