Abstract :
The authors formulate a general model-based filter that behaves as a rank filter in the presence of lines and borders and as a mean filter otherwise. The model is expressed in terms of local normalized parameters and the filter equation is a function of these parameters. Furthermore, they introduce some geometrical information taking the filter into account of the local structure in the neighbourhoods of the pixels
