Abstract :
This work presents a conceptual design of a compact, hardware reconfigurable and multi-channel real-time data acquisition system. The focus of this paper is on designing a fast synchronous interface module for the channel multiplexing circuit that is as close as possible to the Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) settling time. This will maximize the total number of multiplexed channels in simultaneous acquisition. Thus, the samples can be correctly reconstructed. The significance of this design is in collecting and processing multi-channel multiplexed real-time data sources without the need of a personnel computer. The new proposed design is compact and achieves high multiplexing data acquisition accuracy as shown by synthesis results.
