            Abstract : 
Strong optical confinement to the low-index slot, such as ErxY2-xSiO5, is expected for TM mode in Si slot waveguide. The confinement effect causes the optical mode density modification, resulting in the enhancement of radiative transition. We have fabricated slab Si-slot waveguides with Er2SiO5 slot layers in order to demonstrate the dependence of radiative emission on the guided waveguide modes. The PL fine structure particular to Er2SiO5 crystal has been observed through the waveguide structure. We confirmed the enhancement of the TM mode edge emission.
