Abstract
Based on Monte Carlo simulation of photon propagation this paper discusses the total transmission and refraction characteristics of photon propagation in a laminar carbonaceous soot slab. As the radius of soot particles follows the famous log-normal distribution, we use directly a sampling method to simulate and trace the photon. Finally, some numerical results are presented and the results are compared with different kinds of the averaged method.
