Abstract :
A frequency domain (FD) technique for calculating arcing faults in transmission lines is applied to obtain relaying signals. There are analyzed the transient signals in order to discover distinctive features. The paper later center the attention on feature extractors to improve digital relays speed and pattern recognition with ANN. Nonconventional signal processing are explained for a based artificial neural network (ANN) relay for transmission line protection.
