Abstract
The paper discusses a boost-derived power factor corrector topology attractive for single-phase high power applications. Compared with the standard boost PFC it features less part count and lower losses. Conduction losses are reduced due to the elimination of two diodes from the input bridge rectifier. Switching losses are reduced due to implementation of the special active snubber circuit providing zero-voltage switching conditions for all the MOSFET switches including the auxiliary switch in the snubber
