Abstract
The use of weather satellite imagery continues to grow. The development of image processing algorithms for automated analysis is therefore becoming increasingly important. This paper presents adaptive algorithms appropriate for analyzing cloud patterns in weather satellite images. The authors´ emphasis is on creating the proper algorithms rather than developing industrial-grade analysis systems. An illustrative example using weather satellite images is presented to demonstrate these algorithms
