Abstract
In allusion to the characteristics of an HF channel, a synchronization scheme is proposed in this paper for the low SNR condition. Based on pilot symbols employing a PN sequence, a reliable signal synchronization scheme is obtained. Utilized the special structure of the PN sequence in the pilot symbols, the frequency and time offset is captured. Theoretic analysis and simulations show that this scheme works properly at low SNR in HF communications.
