Abstract
Based on a discussion of an aspect of the Fourier transform, the paper analyzes the importance of cyclic correlation to the DMSSFED (delay and multiply symbol synchronizer and frequency error detector) algorithm. This algorithm is important to parameter estimation in a frequency selective environment. By cyclostationary (Gardner, W.A., 1991) analysis, the same parameter estimation result to the algorithm can be got in a simpler way.
