            Abstract :
This contribution presents a new concept for traffic flow-optimization by means of C2C-communication and decentralized vehicle-control in a type of multi-agent-approach. The vehicles´ velocities and their longitudinal positions are adapted by means of a consensus algorithm. The vehicles´ formations are modeled as a velocity dependend discretized road model which is represented as a Petri net. The Petri net representation is used for development of formation algorithms to manage the distribution of vehicles on the lanes and the encounter of vehicle groups.
