Abstract
Colliding pulse mode-locked (CPM) lasers operating at 1.5 μm and with a repetition frequency of 36 GHz were fabricated on semi-insulating substrates. When the RF power injected into the saturable absorber at the fundamental frequency was as small as 9.0 dBm, hybrid CPM was observed. Linewidth-narrowing and pedestal suppression became pronounced for RF powers as low as 0 dBm
