Abstract :
In the first part of this paper, it is shown that a SISO linear time-varying n-dimensional N-step reachable (where N > n) discrete-time system can be put into a control canonical form by augmenting the system state. This result is then used to design N-dimensional output feedback controllers which result in a closed-loop system that is equivalent to a time-invariant system with assignable poles.
