            Abstract :
A new approach of intuitionistic fuzzy fault-tree analysis is proposed to find the most critical system component for the failure analysis problem of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal emergency shut-down (ESD) system to determine weak paths in the ESD and reveal areas where key improvement must be made. In this paper, we first present the ESD fault-tree, fault-tree nodes, then directly compute traditional reliability of ESD. In order to handle the uncertain situation and insufficient information of the LNG terminal ESD system, we generate the intuitionistic fuzzy fault- tree interval, and the intuitionistic fuzzy reliability interval.
