Abstract :
In the paper we propose macroscopic traffic flow model for the mean speed evolution on a freeway where drivers track advisory speeds displayed on signal boards placed above the road. The model is derived from microscopic longitudinal vehicle following model under suitable assumption about driver´s behavior. For the advisory speeds calculation, we propose an adaptive controller which operates under parametric uncertainty
