Abstract :
This paper presents an extensive analysis of air blast circuit breaker outages on the Hydro One Transmission System. The aim of the study was to determine the dependencies of breaker failure rates with respect to age, voltage level, manufacturer and operating interventions. Both forced and planned outages were examined. The statistical data base contains 6337 air blast circuit breaker outages on the Hydro One Transmission System. Results are reported in this paper.
