Abstract
Some mathematical descriptions for multiperson, multiattribute decision making (MPMADM) are described, and why they are unlikely to be amenable to a single, universal solution approach is discussed. The special case in which the persons form a team is examined. Under the definition of the team formulated, models exist for computer assistance of the decision-making process. The original House of Quality, a manual framework for explicitly recording tradeoff analysis, and how the H2 computer implementation using hypertext is an effective adjunct for team decision making are described. The implications of the development of the H2 system and some directions for further research are explored
