Abstract :
Air splicing technology is used for yarn knotless connection. Compressed air passes through the splicer´s chamber and forms a high velocity jet flow which drives a yarn to complete untwisting and twisting movement. The total mass of air flow consumed during a single splicing process is one of the major parameters to reflect the air splicer´s performance. Based on the principle of gas isothermal transformation, this paper designed an instantaneous flow test bench for air splicer. A 32-bit embedded processor was used as data acquisition and processing unit, the air pressure signals were sampled and transmitted to processing software ran in a computer via an Ethernet interface in real time. On the basis of the test bench, six comparative experiments were carried out and the mass consumption of air flow under different splicing time conditions was measured and analyzed. The flow rate test bench based on embedded microprocessor provides experimental data for further research of the air splicer´s performance.
