Abstract
The performance of M -ary orthogonal signalling in multi-user, direct-sequence spread spectrum systems is investigated. The analysis is oriented toward mobile cellular telephony, and models the performance of three coded systems. A description of system parameters is given, and their role in the analysis is described. Tradeoffs are examined between coding gain and processing gain in the rejection of multi-user interference for the three systems
