Abstract :
The rigorous field analysis of the scattering of an electromagnetic field from a perfectly conducting wedge loaded by a dielectric cylinder, which is excited by a line source or a plane wave for transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarizations, is investigated. The solution technique for the problem is developed by applying the field equivalent principle, which divides the problem into interior and exterior problems for each excitation. Enforcing the continuity of the tangential components of the magnetic field across the dielectric interface results in an integral equation in terms of unknown equivalent magnetic current. The far-scattered field for the external region is computed in terms of the magnetic current for both polarizations
