Abstract :
The authors design a multivariable controller for a two-panel space station using the linear quadratic Gaussian regulator with loop transfer recovery (LQG/LTR) methodology. The controller was simulated and its performance and stability robustness were evaluated. The simulation results are presented and discussed. The compensated plant was stable, responded quickly to disturbances, and was robust to parameter variations. It was found that the LQG/LTR controller proved to be effective in achieving the control objectives
