Abstract
At present the local telephone network uses twisted copper wire pairs with the ISDN protocol, TV communication uses analogical or numerical video signals and computers use IP on Internet/Intranet networks. Thus each network uses his own protocol. All these different networks can be integrated in only one network with better quality of service. The author looks at how ATM networks are the basis for the next generation of interoperable public telephone, TV and computer communications
