Abstract :
In this paper, we consider the problem of synthesizing a controller that internally stabilizes a given system and renders the closed loop system γ-positive real. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a controller are obtained. The results enable us to design a positive real closed loop system with a precise dissipation rate and phase property. An example is illustrated for phase curve shaping and an application to absolute stability of systems with sector nonlinearities
