Abstract :
Transient DC conductivity connected with geminate ion pairs in a nonpolar liquid is calculated on the basis of the Onsager model for conditions under which a significant negative current component can be observed. Two computational techniques are used: a finite-difference scheme and stochastic simulation of charge diffusion and recombination. The conditions for the experimental observation of the negative current during the pulse photoionization of an organic additive dissolved in a nonpolar liquid are considered. Calculations are performed for liquid hydrocarbons with low mobility of excess electrons, such as n-hexane and methylcyclohexane
