Abstract :
An attempt to generalise the ideas of probabilistic functioning of cerebral neural structures is undertaken in terms of the concept of statistical probability of nerve cells and nerve cell ensembles organisation into functional cerebral systems. According to this concept the degree of participation of each particular element in a nerve cell ensemble is probabilistic. It is hypothesised that nerve cell ensembles ensure a single-valued final effect through multivalued participation of separate elements and by various interaction combinations in the brain ensemble mosaic. The probabilistic principle of separate elements´ mobilisation explains the brain´s high reliability and flexibility
