Abstract
We consider polyhedral cones to control manufacturing systems with one machine, in a deterministic environment. The main characteristic of the policy induced by a given cone is to change the applied control so that the system trajectory reaches a new cone facet. Until now, a natural problem induced by these policies was avoided: what controls can be initiated by a facet keeping the trajectory inside the cone? If a cone policy has this property, we say it is coherent. We study coherency conditions and its relations with stability. We show that coherency is related with a matrix structure used in Sharifnia et al. (1991) and Hs et al. (1995)
